A 1955 Ford Consul Mk1 towing a Hilivan Deluxe caravan of 1959 and made by L&A Fisher, believed to be a one off carvan. This outfit was being sold on eBay in July 2014.

1963 Ford Thunderbird & Lilliput Caravan

A 1963 Ford Thunderbird & 12 foot long Lilliput caravan. Lilliput caravans were manufactured in Auckland from the early 1960's through to the late 1970's. Lilliput Caravans were designed and built by the late Bruce Webster, an expatriate English coach-builder.

Police Stopped Caravan User

Police have stopped the driver of this Ford for failing to use appropriate towing mirrors. The law requires you to be able to see when sitting in the driving position for a distance of 20 metres to the rear, and from that point 4 metres out into the carriageway on the offside, and along the kerb to the nearside.

Ford Transit Supervan & Twin Axle Caravan

The Ford Transit Supervan 2 debuted in 1984, at the Donington Truck Grand Prix, and was the work of Auto Racing Technology of Woolaston. Powered by a Ford-Cosworth DFL engine, the long-stroke version of Ford's famous DFV F1 engine. the vehicle was seen at Silverstone doing some 174mph. Ten years later and DRL Engineering of Suffolk undertook a complete re-build of Supervan 2 and, fittingly, it was decided to re-name the vehicle Supervan 3.

Ford 250 & Komfort 282 caravan

Here we have a Ford 250 turbocharged diesel pick-up truck and a 32 foot long caravan, a Komfort 282. Quite a sizeable outfit. Not sure it fully meets the UK's meaning of a 'car' but it surely comes close.

Ford Mondeo Titanium X Estate

Ford's new Mondeo estate won a Caravan Club Towcar Award for the second year in a row. The Mondeo Titanium X Estate triumphed against tough competition in the £25,000 to £32,000 category. The five-cylinder turbo petrol engine has tremendous pulling power, the gearbox ratios (six-speed manual) are just right and both brakes and steering inspire confidence.
